Aline Schafrum Macedo

I am a dedicated veterinary surgeon, passionate for continuous learning and self-improvement. I like to be up to date with the latest medical advances and scientific information to expand my boundaries and propagate knowledge. I am a curious and creative person, fascinated by life and how we interact with natural phenomena. I believe the human-animal bond goes beyond the pet/owner relationship and has become entangled in our kinship interpretations. My love for animals has guided most of my life choices and I like to think that my mission is to keep animal distress to a minimum anyway I can. With that in mind, I have improved my surgical skills by combining my natural manual and artistic abilities with the vast medical background I gathered over time and surgical training in small animal surgery. Over the past 15 years I was blessed with the opportunity to meet some of the best veterinary surgeons worldwide while graduating and attending courses on 5 of the top 10 Brazilian universities, completing a surgical fellowship and part of my Masters degree on the best veterinary college in Canada (ranked 7th worldwide in 2018) aside from spending a couple of weeks visiting the 4th best American university (ranked 10th worldwide). To this I can only be grateful for having the right people crossing my path and giving me the opportunity to be taught by and work along with so many inspiring and amazing teachers and colleagues that have only increased my eager to improve my surgical and teaching skills, because I agree with Madam Curie when she said that the only way to build a better world is by improving the individuals.
