TENECTOMIA DA CABEÇA MEDIAL DO FLEXOR DIGITAL PROFUNDO EM EQUINOS
RESUMO A tenectomia da cabeça medial do flexor digital profundo foi realizada em três eqüinos com subluxação dorsal interfalângica proximal nos membros pélvicos. Após incisão longitudinal da pele e fáscia metatársica na face medial do membro, distal à castanha, o tendão foi isolado e excisado 3 cm do mesmo proximal à sua inserção com a cabeça principal do tendão flexor digital profundo, seguindo-se a sutura da fáscia e pele. Os animais melhoraram na primeira semana após a cirurgia, o que recomenda a técnica como alternativa no tratamento da subluxação dorsal interfalângica proximal no membro pélvico de eqüinos. TENECTOMY OF THE MEDIAL HEAD OF THE DEEP DIGITAL FLEXOR TENDON IN HORSES ABSTRACT The tenectomy of medial head of the deep digital flexor tendon was performed in three horses with dorsal pastern joint hindlimb subluxation . After a vertical incision of the skin, subcutaneous and metatarsal fascia on the medial side of the hindlimb, distally to the chestnut, the tendon was isolate through the incision and 3 cm was transected proximally its union with the deep digital flexor tendon. Finally the fascia and skin was closed. The technic provide relief of the signs within one week after surgery and is an alternative in case of dorsal pastern joint hindlimb subluxation.
