Interferência sazonal no metabolismo da Rana catesbeiana Shaw ,1802 (Anura, Ranidae)

There are a few experimental data concerning the seasonal variations of metabolism in Amphibian. Less attention was given to natural environmental conditions and aspects of metabolism of Rana catesbeiana Shaw,1802 (Anura, Ranidae). The propose of this study was evaluated interference the metabolism of R. catesbeiana in different seasons. Liver and muscle showed a big glycogen reserves in summer and autumn and a little in winter and spring. We observed that plasmatic insulin concentration is bigger in summer and spring and decrease in autumn and winter. When compared with the other season plasmatic glycaemia only differ in spring. The analysis of plasmatic lipids showed a big F.F.A concentration in winter and spring and a hard decrease in summer, now, plasmatic concentration of triglycerides showed an inverse standard. In anattempt to contribute to understanding the metabolism of amphibian we suggest that a rhythmic fluctuations in seasons directly influence in metabolic standard of R. catesbeiana.
