Haff's disease, a syndrome of unknown etiology, is characterized by presenting a condition of rhabdomyolysis that causes sudden stiffness and muscle pain, 24 hours after consumption of sea or freshwater fish. The objective of this work is to report the experience of the Central Public Health Laboratory (LACEN-CE) during the process of analysis of fish suspected of causing Haff's disease in the year 2021. This is a descriptive study, of the experience report type. In the two analyzed samples (cooked and raw Arabaiana fish), the toxins were detected: Palytoxin (PLTX) and Ovatoxin (Ovtx) cause sudden-onset myalgia after eating fish, corroborating the patients' symptoms. It is concluded that the process was carried out satisfactorily, but there is a need for investments to achieve a result promptly. Implementing this analysis of sanitary interest in the routine of LACENS is highlighted.
