The use of ovariossalpingo-hysterectomy for elective sterilization of bitches and cats has been commonly performed in the surgical routine of hospitals and veterinary clinics. However, the incorporation of the modern surgical arsenal has been gaining ground due to the advantages related to the reduction of surgical trauma.
