Visceral leishmaniasis, popularly known as kalazar, is a potentially lethalanthropozoonosis when untreated. The study of the variable incidence providesinformation about the disease, guaranteeing the Veterinarian to develop preventivemethodologies, depending on the behavior of the disease. The present work is anepidemiological, descriptive and retrospective study with a quantitative approach carriedout in the city of Sobral from January 2014 to December 2016. In the present study, thenumber of new cases of leishmaniasis was observed in the course years.
