Atopic dermatitis is caused by a genetic alteration in the skin barrier, making the animal more prone to develop allergies, inducing exacerbated pruritus, eritemosa skin, alopecia, recurrent ear infections and secondary infections. For the diagnosis should be excluded allergic reactions provoked by flea and tike bite and food allergy. In animals that have frequent crises the use of cyclosporine is recommended due to therapeutic success and side effects opposite to glucocorticoids.
