Micoplasmose em calopsita (Nymphicus hollandicus) – relato de caso

Souza, Ana Karine Lima dePinheiro, Estéfanni

Mycoplasmosis are caused by bacterias of the genus Mycoplasma, affecting several species of animals, among them birds. Two cockatiels were attended at a veterinary clinic, with non-specific signs such as apathy and regurgitation. An PCR exam was requested and tested positive for the bacteria. After a few days of hospitalization, the animals came to death. Some problems contribute to the fact that the disease is still underreported or underdiagnosed, which makes the knowledge about it so important.
