Cases of urinary infections are generally rare in cats, but is one of the etiologies of the feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD). This study aimed to determine the incidence of bacteriuria in these cases. For two years, were evaluated 46 records of the disease. Laboratory results showed that 24% of the animals had bacteria in the sediment. It follows therefore that the urinalysis is a key test for the monitoring of animals with clinical signs of FLUTD, with a high incidence of bacteriúria among the evaluated animals.
