Reports on the diet and reproduction of the Ipanema fruit bat, Pygoderma bilabiatum in a Brazilian forest fragment
Faria, Deborah
Pygoderma bilabiatum (photo 1) is a phyllostomid bat recorded for southeastern Brazil, south central Bolivia, Paraguay and northern Argentina (Koopman 1982: Emmons & Feer 1990: Nowak1991). In spite of its widespread distribution, local populations seem rare and patchily distributed (Emmons & Feer 1990), and some basic aspects of its natural history, such as diety and reproduction, remain relatively unknown (Webster & Owen 1984).
